For Immediate Release
May 10, 2013

RENO, Nev.-What started as a pitchers' duel between Reno RHP Charles Brewer and Omaha LHP Will Smith, turned into a late-inning 6-2 victory for the Storm Chasers at Aces Ballpark Friday night.

Reno jumped on the board first with an RBI double by Juan Rivera in the fourth inning. The lead held until the sixth, when Omaha pushed across four runs.

Brewer held the Storm Chasers to just four hits until the sixth, when he gave up another five. Two RBI singles followed by a two-run shot off the bat of Anthony Seratelli gave Omaha a lead they would not surrender. A home run by Max Ramirez in the eighth off Reno reliever Bo Schultz extended the Storm Chasers' lead to 6-1.

The Aces posed a threat in the bottom of the ninth, as a run crossed off a throwing error by Irving Falu, but Reno was unable to produce any more offense.

At the dish for Reno, Tuffy Gosewisch and Brad Snyder each went 2-for-4.

Brewer was charged with the loss, giving up four earned runs on nine hits through 5.2 innings, while striking out four. The Aces bullpen allowed two earned runs on four hits through the final 3.1 innings of the game, while recording four strikeouts.

Smith dealt a quality start, and earned the win for Omaha. He gave up just one earned run on six hits through 6.0 innings, while striking out five. Reliever Louis Coleman was credited with a hold, throwing 2.0 perfect innings.

Reno begins a four-game series against the Iowa Cubs, top affiliate of the Chicago Cubs, on Saturday night. LHP Tyler Skaggs (2-4, 6,89 ERA) will get the nod for Reno, while the Cubs will counter with RHP Guillermo Moscoso (1-0, 3.00 ERA). First pitch is set for 6:35 p.m. PT.
