Aces Take 7-3 Win Over Padres

Reno, Nev.-Three, two-run innings were the key to success for the Reno Aces on Saturday, in a 7-3 victory over the Tucson Padres in the first game of the series at Aces Ballpark.

Alfredo Marte put the Aces on the board in the first with a two-RBI double that came with two outs in the frame. An RBI single with two outs off the bat of Juan Rivera with two outs in the fifth extended Reno's lead to 4-2.

Mike Jacobs' two-RBI double in the seventh gave Reno a pair of insurance runs, before Taylor Harbin crossed the plate in the eighth for the final run of the night.

In his sixth Major League Rehabilitation Assignment game with Reno, D-backs second baseman Aaron Hill went 3-for-4, including a triple, with a pair of runs scored.

At the dish for Reno, Chris Owings recorded his fifth-straight and 41st overall multi-hit game of the season. Owings, who leads all of professional baseball in hits, went 2-for-5 with a pair of runs scored.

RHP Mike Bolsinger was stellar in his start, giving up just two runs on six hits through 7.0 innings. He struck out six and allowed just one walk en route to his second win of the season for Reno.

The series continues on Sunday afternoon at Aces Ballpark. RHP Garrett Mock (4-3, 6.49 ERA) will get the nod for Reno, while the Padres will counter with RHP Burch Smith (2-1, 2.53 ERA). First pitch is set for1:05 p.m. for another Renown Children's Hospital Family Funday, featuring baseball bingo.
