In a scoreless game in the bottom of the fourth inning, Curve second baseman Mitchell Tolman hit a leadoff single to right field for his team's first hit off Akron left-hander Tanner Tully (5-5). First baseman Jerrick Suiter singled to right, and both runners reached scoring position after designated hitter Logan Hill's groundout. Third baseman Hunter Owen then hit an RBI single to center field. Right fielder Bligh Madris grounded to second base, scoring another run, and catcher Arden Pabst hit an RBI single to center field for a 3-0 Altoona lead.
Mound Presence
Tully retired the first eight batters of the game and held Altoona hitless through the first three innings. After the three-run fourth inning, he pitched a scoreless fifth inning, lasting five innings and allowing three earned runs on seven hits with one walk and three strikeouts.
