Turning Point
In a scoreless game in the bottom of the fourth inning, Curve second baseman Mitchell Tolman hit a leadoff single to right field for his team's first hit off Akron left-hander Tanner Tully (5-5). Tully retired the first eight batters of the game and held Altoona hitless through the first three innings. After the three-run fourth inning, he pitched a scoreless fifth inning, lasting five innings and allowing three earned runs on seven hits with one walk and three strikeouts. Left-handers Anthony Gose and Kyle Nelson each pitched scoreless innings, before right-hander Dalbert Siri allowed an unearned run in the eighth inning, growing the Curve lead to 4-2.
