Turning Point
The RubberDucks (18-11) snapped a 1-1 tie in the fourth inning when Joe Sever slugged a double, his team-high ninth of the year. It was Mathias' 15thRBI of the season.
Mound Presence
Brady (1-2) tossed 6.2 innings Sunday, his longest of the year. He scattered three hits and allowed just one, unearned run. Of his 96 pitches, 60 were strikes. He walked only one and fanned three. The victory was Brady's first at the Double-A level. Right-hander Mitch Brown worked the final 2.1 innings to earn his third save. Brown struck out three hitters, including pinch-hitter Ademar Rifaela to end the game.
Duck Tales
Paulino belted his second homer of the season in the third inning to tie the game 1-1. Sever was 2-4, with a double, and raised his season average to .310. Mathias had a perfect day at the plate, going 2-2, with a triple and single, to go along with his sacrifice fly and a walk. Sicnarf Loopstok drew a bases-loaded walk in the sixth to make it 3-1, and Ka'ai Tom lined an RBI single in the eighth to extend the lead to 4-1. Tom now has an eight-game hit streak.
