Turning Point
RubberDuck's Mike Papi hit an RBI groundout to second base to score Bobby Bradley in the fourth inning. The lone run was all Luis Lugo and reliever Jordan Milbrath needed to slam the door on Binghamton.
Winging It
Akron southpaw Luis Lugo allowed just two hits in 6.1 shutout innings in a winning effort. In his last five starts, Lugo has only given up four earned runs, posting a 4-0 record while striking out 24 batters. Jordan Milbrath recorded his second save of the year, working 2.2 innings, striking out four and allowing just one hit. Binghamton starter Mickey Jannis suffered his sixth loss of the season, working five innings allowing the only run of the game on five hits.
Duck Tales
The RubberDucks winning run came in the fourth inning when Bobby Bradley singled and Eric Haase doubled to put runners on second and third. Mike Papi would then hit an RBI ground out. Bobby Bradley was the only RubberDuck hitter to record a multi-hit game going 2-3 with a double.
Notebook
It was the first shutout by the Akron pitching staff since 7/25 against Binghamton… Todd Hankins is hitting .454 (10-22) in the month of August… The RubberDucks recorded their 9th sellout of the season… The 8,396 in attendance was the largest crowded in Akron RubberDuck history beating the previous high set on July 3rd of this year… Time of Game: 2:08… Attendance: 8,396.

Akron and Binghamton will meet for the final time of the season on Sunday. First pitch is slated for 2:05 p.m. Lefty Matt Whitehouse (6-6, 4.73) will start for the RubberDucks against the Rumble Ponies Corey Oswalt (9-4, 2.28).
