Thomas Pannone surrendered his only run of the game in the first inning after giving up an RBI single to Carlos Tocci. Pannone pitched two perfect innings in the second and third innings. He escaped runners at the corners with two outs in the fifth, getting Scott Kingery to pop out to third. Reading starter Drew Anderson went six innings, giving up six hits, four runs, all earned, two walks and two homers with five strikeouts.
Duck Tales
Yu Chang tied up the game at one apiece with a leadoff solo homer to left field in the fifth. After Bradley and Haase reached in the sixth, Rodriguez made starter Drew Anderson pay, driving a three-run homer to right field. Rodriguez finished with two hits, a home run, a double and three RBI on the night. Along with Chang and Rodriguez, Bradley reached base twice on the night with a walk and a hit by pitch. The bottom five in the lineup consisting of Haase, Rodriguez, Chang, Connor Marabell and Jorma Rodriguez collected all seven hits for the Ducks.
