RubberDucks Game Recap
Rumble Ponies 10 RubberDucks 1
WP: Mickey Jannis (9-5) LP: Sean Brady (5-7) Save: none
Summary
Binghamton's Jhoan Urena homered, doubled and drove in three runs, and Mickey Jannis spun six innings of shutout ball, as the Rumble Ponies clobbered the Akron RubberDucks, 10-1, Thursday night at NYSEG Stadium in Binghamton, New York.

Turning Point
Already up, 1-0, the Rumble Ponies (57-65) blew the game open with five runs in the fifth inning against Sean Brady (5-7). A throwing error and single put a pair of runners on base for Andrés Giménez, who drove both in with a double to left to make it 3-0. Tomás Nido delivered a single to score Gimenez to extend the lead to 4-0. Brady left with the bases loaded and one out, and James Karinchak walked in a pair of runs to make it 6-0, before notching a pair of strikeouts to end the inning.
Mound Presence
Jannis (9-5) kept the Ducks guessing all night with his knuckleball and fastball mix. The veteran right-hander walked one and struck out four. On the Akron side, Brady (5-7) lasted 4.1 innings and gave up six runs on seven hits, but only four were earned.
Duck Tales
The Ducks were a combined 2-10 with runners in scoring position against four Binghamton hurlers. Akron spoiled the shutout bid in the eighth when Andrew Calica singled, moved to second on a groundout, and scored on a single by Li-Jen Chu, who was 2-4 on the night. Tyler Krieger enjoyed a three-hit night for the RubberDucks (68-54).
