RubberDucks, City of Akron Featured This Sunday on the Travel Channel

"Food Paradise" to air its "Minor League Baseball" episode Sunday at 9 p.m.

(AKRON, OHIO) Nov. 21, 2017 - The Akron RubberDucks and the city of Akron will be in the national spotlight when the Travel Channel's "Food Paradise" will air its special Minor League Baseball episode this Sunday, Nov. 26 at 9 p.m.

The RubberDucks were one of a few, select teams chosen from among more than 160 Minor League Baseball teams to participate in the episode, thanks to Canal Park's reputation for fun, unique concessions options and its famous Extreme Foods Menu. The Minor League Baseball episode will focus on top menu items at ballparks across the country.

Taping in Akron took place at various locations and at Canal Park on Aug. 20-21. Two of the RubberDucks' Extreme Foods Menu items will be featured, as well as interviews with RubberDucks' pitchers D.J. Brown and Dylan Baker , as well as with staff members, including General Manager Jim Pfander, Director of Food & Beverage Brian Manning, and Executive Chef James Phillips.

"We are excited and honored 'Food Paradise' chose the RubberDucks and the city of Akron to be featured in this special episode," said Manning. "We have worked to make Canal Park's concessions fun and unique, while still having a full array of items fans can enjoy."

Canal Park's Extreme Foods Menu is filled with creative, one-of-a-kind ballpark creations and it has garnered national attention since its inception in 2011. The Nice 2 Meat U Burger, two 10 oz. patties topped with two all-beef hot dogs, bacon, cheddar cheese and onions, and the Three Dog Night, a kielbasa split in half with a bratwurst inside then split in half with a hot dog inside all topped with sauerkraut and spicy mustard, were featured by comedian Louis Black on an episode of The Daily Show, and other various items have been promoted by ESPN Sports Business Reporter Darren Rovell. Various single-season items such as the LeBlock Burger and the Johnny Footlong drew coverage from Fox Sports, CBS Sports, and other national outlets.

The Akron RubberDucks are the Double-A affiliate of the Cleveland Indians and defending Eastern League champions. The 2018 season, powered by FirstEnergy, will be the franchise's 22nd since moving to Akron and its fifth since becoming the RubberDucks.
