(AKRON, OHIO) March 11, 2019 - The Akron RubberDucks are hosting its annual "Media Day," at Canal Park on Tuesday, April 2 with the schedule slated to begin at 11 a.m. This is the media's first chance to interview and photograph the 2019 RubberDucks, which includes new manager Rouglas Odor and his new staff.
Media Day will be the first chance for the media to talk to the players, coaches, and front office staff. who will also be available for photographs and interviews. The home clubhouse, dugout, field area, and batting cages will be open during this time.
The day starts at 11 a.m. with the introduction of a new item to Canal Park's famous Extreme Foods Menu. At that time, media will also have a chance to try new dishes from The Game Grill + Bar's menu and new foods from the Canal Park concessions, which will include the unveiling of a new portable concourse cart.
This year, the RubberDucks have teamed up with radio partner 97.5 WONE to hold a fan-naming contest for the new Extreme Menu item. 97.5 WONE will announce contest details later this week and the name for the new item will be unveiled prior to Media Day.
About 2 p.m. the 2019 RubberDucks and staff will be available for interviews and photos, followed by a full-squad workout that will start about 3 p.m. The team will host a closed workout on April 3 to prepare for the April 4 Home Opener vs. Altoona Curve at 6:35 p.m.

Where: Media should enter through the Canal Park Administrative Office Entrance located at 300 South Main Street, Akron, Ohio 44308. From there, they will be directed to the "Media Day" locations.
2019 Credential Information:
Full-season credentials are reserved for those professionals who anticipate assignment to more than 30 games at Canal Park throughout the course of the 2019 season. Media outlets unable to attend "Media Day" can pick up credentials on Opening Night, Thur., April 4, or can contact the RubberDucks public relations office for special arrangements.
Full-season credentials must be submitted by Sun., March 31, the approved credentials will be available for pickup on Media Day, Tue., April 2. Pickup of full-season credentials will be available at the administrative office front desk, located at 300 S. Main St.
Single-game credentials must be submitted at least 24 hours in advance by an editor, director or producer representing the applicant's media affiliation, although 48-hours of notice is appreciated. Requests should be submitted on company letterhead via email, fax or mail.
