Bees Top Isotopes in Series Finale Slugfest

The Salt Lake Bees (27-21) unleashed the full power of their offense on the Isotopes (25-23) pitching staff, defeating Albuquerque, 16-11, on Thursday afternoon. With the win, the Bees increased their lead to two games over the Isotopes for first place in the PCL's Pacific Southern Division.

The 16 runs scored by the Bees were the most the Isotopes pitching staff has allowed during the 2018 season. The previous high was 14 surrendered on April 18 at Tacoma. Albuquerque also allowed a season-high 19 hits.
Isotopes starter Yency Almonte did not make it out of the first inning, recording just two outs in the contest while allowing four runs. The right-hander walked three and struck out one.
Offensively, Thursday's game marked the 10th time this season the Isotopes have scored 10 or more runs.
Three Isotopes finished with multi-RBI games. Garrett Hampson knocked home three, Jeff Moberg recorded two RBI in his Triple-A debut and Stephen Cardullo also drove home two runs.

Cardullo finished the afternoon 4-for-4 with three runs scored and a walk.
Ryan McMahon had a three-hit day, raising his season average to .267 (23-for-86). McMahon finished the game a home run shy of the cycle.
The Isotopes will now head to Sacramento for a five-game series with the River Cats from Raley Field. Brett Oberholtzer will toe the rubber in the series opener on Friday. First pitch from Sacramento is set for 8:05 p.m.
