Isotopes Avoid Sweep with 7-2 Win over Rainiers

The Isotopes (56-66) avoided being swept for the second time in three series, coming away with a 7-2 victory over the Tacoma Rainiers (59-62) on Wednesday.

The Isotopes (56-66) avoided being swept for the second time in three series, coming away with a 7-2 victory over the Tacoma Rainiers (59-62) on Wednesday.

Matt Holliday led the way for the Isotopes, finishing the night 4-for-4 with three runs scored. The 38-year-old veteran has reached base in 10 of his 11 games with the Isotopes. With his four-hit performance, Holliday has raised his batting average to .326 (14-for-43).
Josh Fuentes also had a big game at the plate for the Isotopes, finishing the night 2-for-4 with three RBI.
On the mound, Isotopes starter Brett Oberholtzer had a solid outing. The southpaw allowed two runs over 7.0 innings, earning his sixth win of the season.
The Isotopes are back in action on Thursday to open a four-game series with the Sacramento River Cats from Isotopes Park. First pitch is set for 6:35 p.m.
