Isotopes Down Sounds for Third Straight Win

After a 17-run output on Sunday, the Isotopes (35-35) needed just three runs to defeat the Sounds (32-36) on Monday, downing Nashville by a score of 3-2 at Isotopes Park.

With a win on Tuesday, the Isotopes would complete their first four-game series sweep since Sept. 2-5, 2016 when Albuquerque took four in a row in El Paso.
The top of the Isotopes sparked the offense, as Garrett Hampson and Raimel Tapia collected two hits each and both drove home a run.
Tapia finished the night 2-for-4 with two doubles while Hampson went 2-for-3 with a double.
On the mound, Isotopes starter David Holmberg improved to 3-5 on the season, allowing one earned run over his 5.0 innings on the hill. Holmberg struck out three and walked three.
Albuquerque relievers Keith Hessler (2.0) and Shane Broyles (1.0) held the lead for D.J. Johnson who recorded his 10th save of the season.
The Isotopes will turn to David Holman on Tuesday as Albuquerque goes for the sweep on Tuesday. First pitch in the series finale is set for 12:05 p.m.
