Isotopes Drop Homestand Opener to Rainiers

After a sixty-two-minute weather delay, the Isotopes (55-65) dropped the series opener to the Tacoma Rainiers (58-61), 5-2. Albuquerque has now lost seven of their last nine and 23 of their last 33 games.

The Rainiers scored all five runs against Isotopes starter David Holmberg. The southpaw tossed 5.1 innings, walking three and striking out two.
Albuquerque relievers Carlos Estévez, Jerry Vasto and DJ Johnson each recorded a scoreless outing out of the bullpen.
Offensively, Josh Fuentes and Elliot Soto knocked home the only runs of the evening for the Isotopes.
Matt Holliday finished the evening 2-for-4 with a run scored, double and walk.
The Rainiers and Isotopes continue their three-game set on Tuesday from Isotopes Park. Tacoma's Bryan Evans with square off against Albuquerque's Jeff Hoffman. First pitch is set for 6:35 p.m.
