Isotopes Drop Series Opener to Chihuahuas

The first place Chihuahuas (51-44) increased their lead in the division over the Isotopes (45-49) with a 6-3 win at Isotopes Park. Albuquerque is now 5.5 games back in the Pacific Southern Division.

Isotopes starter David Holmberg had a solid outing on the hill, tossing 3.0 shutout innings. The southpaw struck out four and walked none.
Nelson Gonzalez took the loss for the Isotopes, yielding four runs over his 3.0 innings of relief.
At the plate, Drew Weeks led the way for the Isotopes. The 25-year-old finished the night 2-for-4 with two runs scored and a solo home run. Weeks' round-tripper was the only extra-base hit of the evening for the Isotopes.
With the loss, the Isotopes have now dropped seven of their last eight games.
The Isotopes and Chihuahuas are back in action on Tuesday at Isotopes Park when Brett Oberholtzer toes the rubber for Albuquerque. First pitch is set for 6:35 p.m.
