Mariachis de Nuevo México Handed First Loss by Grizzlies

In front of 12,156 fans at Isotopes Park, the Mariachis de Nuevo México (47-51) lost their first ever game on Friday as the Fresno Grizzlies (57-41) came away with an 8-5 victory. Albuquerque had won its three previous games when wearing their Mariachis uniforms.

Peter Lambert was dealt his first loss at the Triple-A level, surrendering five runs and seven hits in 5.0 innings. Lambert is 2-1 with a 4.50 ERA in three starts since joining the Isotopes on July 4.
The Mariachis outhit the Grizzlies 11-10 with Josh Fuentes pacing Nuevo México with three. Mike Tauchman and Anthony Bemboom also recorded multi-hit games while Bemboom drove in two runs. Bemboom's RBI single in the third inning tied the score at 3-3, but the Grizzlies responded with two runs in the fourth to take the lead for good.
The Isotopes and Grizzlies will play two games on Saturday starting with the continuation of a suspended game from June 3. The game will resume with two outs in the top of the fourth inning with Albuquerque holding a 4-0 lead. The suspended game will get underway at 5:05 p.m. with game two to follow 30 minutes after the conclusion of the first contest. The second game will be a seven-inning contest.
