Winning Streak Comes to an end at Fresno

The Isotopes' (36-36) four-game winning streak came to an end Thursday evening as the Fresno Grizzlies (45-27) took the series opener, 8-0, at Chukchansi Park. Albuquerque has been shut out a PCL-high seven times this season and in three of its last four road contests.

The Isotopes' (36-36) four-game winning streak came to an end Thursday evening as the Fresno Grizzlies (45-27) took the series opener, 8-0, at Chukchansi Park. Albuquerque has been shut out a PCL-high seven times this season and in three of its last four road contests.

Grizzlies starting pitcher Cy Sneed threw a complete-game shutout, limiting the Isotopes to two hits on the night. Sneed took a no-hitter into the seventh inning before Raimel Tapia hit a lead-off single to right field. Tapia was also responsible for Albuquerque's only other hit, a single in the ninth inning.
Brett Oberholtzer was charged with the loss for Albuquerque. The southpaw surrendered four runs, five hits and four walks in 3.2 innings on the mound. Right-hander Austin House also allowed four runs in his 1.2 innings of relief.
The Isotopes continue their series in Fresno on Friday night with Sam Howard scheduled to take the hill. The game is slated to get underway at 8:05 p.m.
