RICHMOND, Va. - The Altoona Curve dropped the series finale to the Richmond Flying Squirrels, 2-1, on Thursday night after the game was called due to rain in the middle of the fifth inning.

The Curve (35-31) dropped two of three games in the series to the Flying Squirrels (36-33).
Richmond broke a 1-1 tie in the bottom of the third inning with a lead-off homer by C.J. Hinojosa that proved to be the game-winning blow.
The teams fought through sloppy conditions to get through the top of the fifth inning before the umpires called for the tarp, moving the game into a rain delay.
The Flying Squirrels broke onto the scoreboard in the bottom of the first inning against Taylor Hearn (Loss, 2-5). With two outs, Miguel Gómez singled, advanced to second on a wild pitch and scored on a single by Dylan Davis.
The Curve evened the score in the top of the third on an RBI single by Jordan George, on of his two hits in the game.
Hearn worked four innings and allowed two runs on three hits and two walks with five strikeouts while fighting through the rainy conditions.
Richmond starter Jordan Johnson (Win, 6-6) allowed one run on four hits with a walk and five strikeouts.
The Curve open a four-game, three-day road trip in Erie on Friday night. Left-hander Cam Vieaux (2-0, 1.29) will start on the mound for the Curve. First pitch at UPMC Park is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
