ERIE, Pa. - After allowing eight runs in the sixth inning, the Altoona Curve lost to the Erie SeaWolves, 9-3, on Friday night at UPMC Park.

The Curve (35-32) have lost three straight games on the trip after falling in the series opener to the SeaWolves (32-39). The start of the game was delayed for an hour and 14 minutes due to wet grounds.
Curve starter Cam Vieaux (Loss, 2-1) worked through five innings and allowed one run, a sacrifice fly by Danny Woodrow in the second, with one walk and five strikeouts.
Erie brought 11 batters to the plate during an eight-run outburst in the sixth, the most runs allowed by the Curve in a single inning this season.
Facing reliever Tate Scioneaux, Woodrow drove an RBI single and Jacob Robson drove a three-run triple with one out to open the SeaWolves' lead to 5-0.
Yeudy Garcia replaced Scioneaux and surrendered an RBI single to Will Maddox and a two-run triple to Chad Sedio before a wild pitch brought Sedio across the plate to cap the eight-run inning and extend the Erie lea to 9-0.
Scioneaux matched a career high with five runs allowed and recorded just one out in his outing. Garcia allowed three runs of his own in the sixth before settling in to retire the final seven batters he faced in order.
The Curve broke the shutout in the eighth. Will Craig hit a sacrifice fly and a throwing error allowed a second run to score. Bryan Reynolds hit a two-out RBI single to close the Curve within 9-3.
Reynolds and Stephen Alemais each had two hits in the game.
Making a spot start, Erie lefty Matt Hall worked through four scoreless innings, tying a season high, and struck out five. Joe Navihon (Win, 2-1) pitched 1.2 scoreless innings with two strikeouts.
The Curve and SeaWolves continue the series with a double-header on Saturday night. Right-hander Pedro Vasquez (1-4, 5.77) will start the first game for Altoona, opposed by Erie right-hander Kyle Funkhouser (3-3, 3.60). Altoona right-hander Logan Sendelbach (2-2, 6.55) and Erie left-hander Liarvis Breto (1-0, 0.00) will start on the mound in the second game.
Game one of the double-header is scheduled to start at 4:35 p.m. at UPMC Park.
