Senate Unchambered in Curve Shutout Loss

Harrisburg follows shutout loss with 6-0 shutout win over the Curve.

CURVE, Pa. – Following Altoona’s 6-0 shutout win on Friday night, Franklyn Kilome and Francys Peguero combined for a four-hit shutout as the Curve fell to the Senators, 6-0, on Saturday night at PNG Field. Kilome tossed a season-long seven shutout innings for Harrisburg in the start, striking out. Aseason-high

CURVE, Pa. – Following Altoona’s 6-0 shutout win on Friday night, Franklyn Kilome and Francys Peguero combined for a four-hit shutout as the Curve fell to the Senators, 6-0, on Saturday night at PNG Field.

Kilome tossed a season-long seven shutout innings for Harrisburg in the start, striking out. Aseason-high nine batters in the process. Peguero took the final two frames, striking out two and allowing one hit. Andres Alvarez knocked a double early in the game as the Curve added three singles later.

Quinn Priester took the loss, allowing three runs on five hits in four innings on the start. John Nogowski knocked an RBI-double in the first inning and an RBI-single in the third off the Altoona starter. Priester then allowed another RBI-single in the fourth inning to Gilbert Lara in the fourth.

The Senators tacked on two runs in the sixth inning off J.C. Flowers. After a lead-off single from Wilson Garcia, Flowers walked three in a row to bring a run across. Brad Case then entered the contest and recorded three outs, but Wilmer Perez hit a sacrifice fly to make it a 5-0 game.

Case allowed another on back-to-back doubles in the seventh from Garcia and Justin Connell. Case went four innings, allowing the one run on four hits and three strikeouts. Flowers allowed two runs in one inning, tossing a scoreless fifth before the two-run sixth.

Altoona finishes its six-game series with Harrisburg on Sunday night at 6:00 p.m. RHP Luis Ortiz takes the ball for the Curve, with LHP Alex Troop on the mound for Harrisburg. It is our Independence Day celebration at the ballpark, with our biggest fireworks show of the season following the game.
