Bryan/College Station, TX - The TCL has announced that Eduardo Acosta of the Amarillo Sod Dogs and Bryce Osmond of the Tulsa Drillers have been named the TCL North Division position player and pitcher of the week, respectively.
Through the 1st week of the season, Acosta has a league-leading nine RBI’s, helping the Sod Dogs get off to a 4-2 start. The sophomore out of Lubbock Christian had back-to-back 3-RBI games in Texarkana. Eduardo’s fast start helped him finish second in the league for hits with 12 while getting at least one hit in all six games to start the season. Along with his .429 batting average, Acosta also also added a home run and four stolen bases to his stat line. (Sod Dogs Team Stats)

Bryce Osmond, the Oklahoma State Cowboy, has been blowing through opponents in this young season. Bryce has struck out 12 of the 20 batters he has faced so far this season. He has yet to allow a hit and has only allowed one free pass in 6 innings. Osmond earned the win in the Drillers’ opening game against the RoughRiders and got the save on Sunday in Texarkana, pitching three scoreless innings in both.
