LEHIGH VALLEY, PA – The Buffalo Bisons left seven runners on base with three of them in scoring position, as they fell to the Lehigh Valley IronPigs 7-2.
Sam Garnder struck out a team-high four batters for the Bisons. Gardner only gave up one run on one hit and a walk.
Buffalo got on the board first in the top of the second inning. Carlos Mendoza doubled to left-center field, scoring Ismael Munguia all the way from first base.
However, Lehigh Valley responded with a double of its own to take a 2-1 lead. With two outs in the bottom half of the inning, Payton Henry blasted a two-run double to left-center field.
The IronPigs added insurance to their small lead in the fourth. Dylan Moore crossed home plate on a wild pitch.
Daz Cameron brought the lead to 3-2 for the Bisons in the fifth. Cameron doubled to left field to drive in C.J. Stubbs.
Lehigh Valley would bring the lead back to two in the sixth inning. Moore hit an RBI single to left field. Henry then hit an RBI single of his own to right field. With two outs left in the inning, Felix Reyes singled to left field to score Moore and Henry to give the IronPigs a 7-2 advantage.
Buffalo and Lehigh Valley are scheduled for a 6:35 p.m. first pitch on Thursday at Coca-Cola Park. The series is tied 2-2. Simeon Woods Richardson will start on the mound for the Bisons. Pregame coverage on The Bet 1520 AM, the Audacy app, and Bisons.com begins broadcast coverage at 6:15 p.m.
