The El Paso Chihuahuas trailed by eight runs in the third inning Thursday night and came back to beat the Reno Aces 12-11 in 10 innings. The Chihuahuas have won two of the first three games against the Aces and have won four of their last five games overall.
Chihuahuas center fielder Forrest Wall hit a game-ending single with two outs in the 10th to give the Chihuahuas their fourth walk-off win of the season and their second of the series. Wall also had a walk and two doubles to move his on-base streak to 15 games. Second baseman Mason McCoy hit a grand slam in El Paso’s five-run bottom of the seventh inning, the Chihuahuas’ fourth grand slam of the year. Mike Brosseau’s solo home run in the bottom of the eighth tied the score.
Designated hitter Luis Campusano reached base five times, going 3-for-4 with two doubles, two walks and three RBIs. El Paso hit seven doubles in the game to establish a new season high. The Chihuahuas are now 1-4 in extra inning games, while Reno dropped to 2-6.
