The Reno Aces scored six early runs and beat the El Paso Chihuahuas 8-4 Wednesday night at Southwest University Park. The teams have split the first two games of the series.
Chihuahuas second baseman Clay Dungan went 3-for-5 with a double, a triple and a two-run home run. Dungan had two at-bats late in the game but didn’t secure the sixth cycle in Chihuahuas history. Dungan’s triple was his fifth of the season, which is tied for the Pacific Coast League lead. His home run was his second in the last three games. Shortstop Mason McCoy went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI to move his hitting streak to seven games.
Center fielder Forrest Wall went 1-for-3 with a walk to move his on-base streak to 14 games. San Diego Padres pitcher Bryan Hoeing threw two shutout innings in relief for the Chihuahuas on MLB Injury Rehab. Wednesday’s loss ended El Paso’s three-game winning streak.
