GADES LOSE THIRD OF FOUR GAMES TO DASH
The Hudson Valley Renegades were held to three hits on Friday night in a 5-3 loss to the Winston-Salem Dash at Trist Stadium.
Four pitchers combined in the effort with starter Kaleb Roper working six innings of one-hit ball to earn his first win (1-6). Mitch Spence allowed four earned runs over 6.2 innings to drop to 7-3.
The Dash (38-61) struck for two in the second inning to gain the edge, with the Renegades committing two errors in the frame. Winston-Salem tacked on three more in the fifth.
The Renegades (61-38) tried to come back in the latter third of the game. A wild pitch brought home a run in the seventh but the Gades stranded two on base. A passed ball and a sacrifice fly off the bat of Carlos Narvaez gave Hudson Valley two more runs in the eighth but it was too late.
The teams meet again on Saturday.
