DES MOINES, IA – The Iowa Cubs (58-61) picked up an 8-5 win over the Worcester Red Sox (61-58) today in the series finale. Each team won three games in the series.
After going down 4-0 in the first inning, Iowa cut the lead to 4-1 in the second on a single from Forrest Wall. Worcester added another in the third to go up 5-1, but the I-Cubs again cut the lead to 5-4 on a three-run homer from Caleb Knight.
Iowa took a 6-5 lead in the fourth on a two-run homer from Hayden Cantrelle. The I-Cubs added two more in the sixth as Cantrelle scored on a fielder’s choice and James Triantos came in on a wild pitch to make it 8-5, Iowa.
