PORTLAND, Maine — The Portland Sea Dogs will celebrate one of Maine’s brightest rising stars with a special Cooper Flagg bobblehead giveaway on Wednesday, August 12th at Delta Dental Park at Hadlock Field when the Sea Dogs host the Binghamton Rumble Ponies at 6:00 PM. The giveaway is presented by Northeast Delta Dental and is part of the club’s popular Notable Mainers bobblehead series.

The first 1,000 fans to enter the ballpark will receive a limited-edition Cooper Flagg bobblehead, honoring the Newport, Maine native and one of the most highly regarded basketball players in the country.

The bobblehead will feature Flagg in his Maine United uniform.

Flagg, a former standout at Nokomis Regional High School and Montverde Academy, quickly rose to national prominence as a top-ranked recruit before being selected as the number one overall pick in the NBA Draft by the Dallas Mavericks.

In his rookie season with Dallas, Flagg has made an immediate impact on the league. He is averaging over 20 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists per game, ranking among the top rookies in multiple categories. He has recorded multiple 30-point performances, including a 32-point outing against Golden State and several all-around efforts featuring double-doubles and high assist totals. Flagg has also emerged as a leading Rookie of the Year candidate, showcasing his versatility as both a scorer and playmaker while quickly becoming a cornerstone of the Mavericks’ future.

The Notable Mainers series has become a fan-favorite tradition at Delta Dental Park at Hadlock Field, recognizing influential figures with strong ties to the state of Maine. Previous honorees in the series include Senator Margaret Chase Smith (2017), NESN personality Tom Caron (2018), Olympian Joan Benoit Samuelson (2019), actor Patrick Dempsey (2022), astronaut Chris Cassidy (2023), and basketball standout MacKenzie Holmes (2024).

“The people of Maine are proud of what Cooper Flagg has accomplished,” stated Sea Dogs General Manager Jesse Scaglion. “We’re excited to honor him as part of our Notable Mainers series and give fans the chance to take home a unique collectible.”

Gates will open at 4:30 PM, and fans are encouraged to arrive early as the bobbleheads are expected to go quickly.
