(Reading, PA) - The Reading Fightin Phils, Double-A affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies, are excited to announce six bobblehead giveaways scheduled for the 2024 season. These bobbleheads will feature many great Fightin Phils of the past and current members of the Phillies core.
Opening Night on April 9 will feature a Bryson Stott Playoff Grand Slam bobblehead for the first 3,000 adults, presented by Savage Auto Group, Penn State Health St. Joseph's, Feesers and the Pennsylvania Cyber Charter School. Additionally, there will be a button on the bobblehead that when pressed, it will play Stott's famous walk-up song. Stott shined in Reading during the 2021 season and made his Major League debut for the Phillies in 2022. He was a vital part of the Phillies postseason runs in 2022 and '23, which was highlighted by his roof-lifting grand slam in the Phillies series-clinching win over the Marlins last season.
On June 9, the first 1,500 kids in attendance will receive a Johan Rojas bobblehead, thanks to Berks Packing. Rojas finished the 2022 season in Baseballtown, and returned to Reading for the 2023 season. After a stellar first-half of the year that saw him hit over .300 and steal 30 bases, Rojas was called up to the Phillies and was their starting center fielder in the postseason, which was highlighted by a game-saving catch in Game Four of the NLDS against the Atlanta Braves.
Next up will be an Orion Kerkering bobblehead for the first 1,500 adults on July 9. It is presented by In Memory of Mark Malkames. Kerkering jetted through the Phillies farm system last season, beginning the season with Single-A Clearwater and concluding it pitching in the playoffs for the Phillies. His year featured an extended stop in Reading from early-July through the end of the Double-A regular season. With the Fightin Phils, Kerkering established himself as the team's closer.
On July 14, the first 1,500 kids in attendance will receive an Aaron Nola bobblehead, thanks to Redner's Markets and Quick Stops. Nola pitched for the Fightin Phils in 2014 and '15 and made his debut with the Phillies during the summer of 2015. Nola has been a staple at the top of the Phillies rotation for nearly a decade and was a huge part of their postseason success the last two seasons. Nola inked a new seven-year contract with the Phillies this past offseason to keep him in red pinstripes for many years to come.
The first 2,000 adults on August 13 will receive an Alec Bohm bobblehead, presented by FirstEnergy Stadium. It will also play Bohm's iconic walk-up song. Bohm starred for Reading in 2019 and made his major league debut for the Phillies in 2020. He has been a steady presence at third base for the Phillies and notched 20 home runs and 97 RBI last season.
Finally, the first 1,500 kids will receive a Ranger Suarez bobblehead on August 18, presented by Penn State Health St. Joseph. Suarez appeared in Reading during the 2018 season and made his Major League debut that same year. He has become a steady force on the Phillies pitching staff and has excelled as both a starter and reliever, especially in the postseason.
The Reading Fightin Phils return to FirstEnergy Stadium on Tuesday, April 9, to open the 2024 season against the Portland Sea Dogs (Red Sox). Single game tickets are on sale and can be purchased online at rphils.com/tickets.
