Bridgewater, New Jersey – Much like the first season of the acclaimed HBO drama series, “The Sopranos,” the inaugural Sopranos Night at TD Bank Ballpark last summer was largely an unknown during the planning process, but turned into a roaring success based on overwhelmingly positive fan response and turnout. Star Steve Schirripa, who played Bobby Baccalierri on the program, is set to return as the Patriots host the second installment of Sopranos Night on Saturday, May 31 when Somerset hosts the Akron RubberDucks at 6:35 pm.

The newest wrinkle to this year’s event will feature a Steve Schirripa bobblehead doll (1st 1,000 adults 18+), presented by New Jersey Lottery, along with an exclusive Sopranos Q&A prior to ballpark gates opening for pre-purchased package ticket holders. The Q&A will begin at 4:30 pm.

“We had so much fun last year, and I think everybody had a really good time,” said Schirripa. “Last year we got a big crowd, and we expect to get some more people. We’re going to have a Q&A for anything you have ever wanted to ask a Soprano; this is your chance. I’m going to tell some behind the scenes stories, so if you’re a Sopranos fan you don’t want to miss this.”

Schirripa added, “I’m being immortalized on a bobblehead. It’s my first one, and believe it or not, I am seriously thrilled about it. Who would have ever thought when you were a kid collecting bobbleheads that you would have your own. It’s a lot of fun. I kid you not, on Instagram, people I know and people I don’t know from all over the world are asking me how they can get a bobblehead.”

Last season, 7,600 fans came out to the ballpark for Sopranos Night, which marked the largest non-fireworks crowd on a Saturday night in franchise history. This year there are two experience packages available for purchase on a first-come, first-served basis and they are the only methods that will allow you to meet, obtain an autograph and take photos with Schirripa.

“First of all, the enthusiasm with the crowd [stood out],” admitted Schirripa. “I’ve been to quite a number of minor league parks before, but nothing like this. This was crazy – it was like a major league game. The thing that makes it so great there is that there’s players from the Yankees rehabbing there and players that you know, in a year or two, will be there playing with the Yankees.”

Schirripa added, “Last year we had over 7,600 people and there was a lot of enthusiasm. Everybody was happy to be there, including me and my family. They were nice enough to give me a box upstairs and I brought 30 people with me; friends from where I grew up and we just had a ball, so they are all coming back so I am looking forward to it.”

The VIP meet & greet package in the exclusive SK Club includes one picture with Schirripa, one autograph (item provided by ticket holder), entrance to the Sopranos Q&A, a guaranteed Schirripa bobblehead per adult (18+) ticket purchased and a ticket to the game in the SK Cub featuring a Sopranos-themed all-you-can-eat buffet. This package is priced at $175 and can be purchased by selecting “SK Club” when ordering online at SomersetPatriots.com.

The Capo package, priced at $60, includes entrance to the Sopranos Q&A, a guaranteed Schirripa bobblehead per adult (18+), upper box ticket to the game, and one picture with Schirripa on the main concourse during the game. Schirripa will not be signing autographs on the main concourse during the event.

Fans in attendance on May 31 will also once again have the chance to meet Schirripa’s viral-sensation wiener dog, Willie Boy, who is also featured with Schirripa on the bobblehead.

“They would have Willie Boy back before me,” Schirripa joked. “He’s very much looking forward to it – he’s been working out.”

“Sopranos are the hometown team here in New Jersey,” explained Schirripa. “In some ways I think the Sopranos showed that New Jersey wasn’t just some crappy, second-rate state. It showed what a beautiful state and how wonderful it is and how wonderful the people are. I think the rest of the world saw what New Jersey is really like because of the Sopranos.”

Tickets for the game can be purchased online at somersetpatriots.com, by calling (908) 252-0700 or by visiting the box office located at TD Bank Ballpark.
