July 27, 2007: The Rattlers beat Great Lakes 5–2 at home. Wisconsin broke a scoreless tie with four runs in the bottom of the seventh: Reed Eastley drove in a run with a single, a second run scored on an error, and Juan Beltran had a two-run single. Anthony Varvaro
July 27, 2007: The Rattlers beat Great Lakes 5–2 at home. Wisconsin broke a scoreless tie with four runs in the bottom of the seventh: Reed Eastley drove in a run with a single, a second run scored on an error, and Juan Beltran had a two-run single. Anthony Varvaro was the starting pitcher for Wisconsin and allowed two hits with eleven strikeouts and two walks over five innings for a no decision.
2005: The Rattlers swept a home doubleheader from Kane County. Wisconsin won game one 5–4 and game two 7–1. In game one, Wisconsin trailed 4–3, but Yung Chi Chen tied the game with a two-out, RBI single in the sixth. In the bottom of the seventh, Brent Johnson started the inning with a double, but was thrown out at third on a sacrifice bunt attempt by Jack Arroyo. Arroyo made up for the bad bunt when he stole second. THEN, Arroyo stole third and Raul Padron’s throw sailed into left field to allow Arroy to score the winning run. In the nightcap, the Cougars took the lead in the first inning with an RBI double by Javier Herrera. Wisconsin responded in the bottom of the first with four runs (two runs on a homer by Rob Johnson and two runs on a single by Matt Tuiasosopo). Cibney Bello (4IP) and Justin Jordan (3IP) held the Cougars to six hits in the game.
2004: The Rattlers beat Beloit 5–4 at home. The Snappers scored twice in the first inning on a two-out, two-run double by Adam Heether. Wisconsin scored four runs in the bottom of the first with a two-run double by Adam Jones tying the game, an RBI single by Bryan LaHair putting Wisconsin in front and LaHair scoring later in the inning. The Snappers tied the game with single runs in the fourth and sixth. In the bottom of the ninth, Wladimir Balentien doubled with one out and Justin Ruchti drove him in with a single for the walkoff winner. This was Wisconsin’s second straight walkoff win over the Snappers.
2002: The Rattlers beat Kane County 3–2 at home. The Cougars took a 2–1 lead on an RBI grounder by William Arroyo in the top of the ninth. Wisconsin rallied for two runs in the bottom of the ninth. Chris Collins tied the game with a two-out, RBI double and pinch-runner Miguel Villilo scored the winning run from second on an error when first baseman Jason Stokes dropped a throw from shortstop Rex Rundgren for what would have been the final out of the inning. Phil Cullen allowed an unearned run over six innings for a no decsion as the Wisconsin starter. Phil Akens allowed one run over eight innings for a no decision at the Kane County starter.
2001: The Rattlers won 6–4 in ten innings at Beloit. Wisconsin trailed 4–0 after the Snappers scored a run in the first and three runs in the fourth. The Rattlers rallied with four runs in the top of the fifth on an RBI single by Miguel Richardson, a two-run double by Joe Dusan, and an RBI double by Mark Carroll. Hawkeye Wayne pitched three scoreless innings in relief for Wisconsin and Chad Wiles pitched around a one-out single in the ninth. Wisconsin plated two runs in the top of the tenth on an RBI grounder by b y Jake Daubert and a bases-loaded walk to Sheldon Fulse. Wiles pitched a 1–2–3 bottom of the tenth.
