CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - The Appalachian League participated in a community service project in Bristol, Va. Thursday morning as part of the League's annual Fall Meetings. Representatives from all ten Appalachian League teams, the League office, and the Minor League Baseball office volunteered with Fellowship Chapel to cook, prepare, package and deliver meals to those in need in the local community.

"I want to thank the Bristol Pirates President and General Manager Mahlon Luttrell for coordinating this volunteer opportunity with Fellowship Chapel," commented Appalachian League President Dan Moushon. "The church provides a tremendous service to the citizens of Bristol. As a league, we appreciate the opportunity to assist with this outreach ministry and give back to the community."
A total of 20 people represented the League and MiLB in the volunteer efforts, which have become a staple of Appalachian League meetings in the spring and fall each year.
