Rays' Qsar, Reds' Gray named July 2-8 Players of the Week

REDINGTON SHORES, Fla. - Princeton Rays outfielder Jordan Qsar and Greeneville Reds pitcher Josiah Gray have been named Appalachian League players of the week for July 2 through July 8 by Minor League Baseball, as announced Monday.

REDINGTON SHORES, Fla. - Princeton Rays outfielder Jordan Qsar and Greeneville Reds pitcher Josiah Gray have been named Appalachian League players of the week for July 2 through July 8 by Minor League Baseball, as announced Monday.

Qsar posted a .407/.515/.889 slash line for the Rays in six games, going 11-for-27 with two doubles, a triple, three home runs, 10 RBI and eight runs scored. Qsar is currently on an 11-game hitting streak dating back to June 28. He has recorded a hit in all but two games in which he has played this season. The Tampa Bay Rays drafted Qsar, 22, in the 25th round of the 2018 First Year Player Draft.
Gray, a 2018 CBB draft pick of the Cincinnati Reds, pitched five hitless innings for Greeneville in the Reds' 8-2 victory over the Johnson City Cardinals on July 3rd. Gray recorded the win, allowing zero hits, zero runs, and one walk while striking out five on 61 pitches. Gray, 1-1 on the year, currently holds a 2.45 ERA.

The Appalachian League is a Rookie (Advance) league in Minor League Baseball that consists of 10 teams across North Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia.
