DANVILLE, Va. -- The Atlanta Braves and the Danville Braves announced Thursday that the on-field staff has been set for 2014.

Returning to Danville to skipper the club will be Randy Ingle. Ingle, who managed the Danville team in 2011 and has 23 years of experience managing in the Braves organization, comes to Danville after spending the last two seasons managing the Class A Rome Braves. Ingle will serve a dual role with the Braves in 2014 as prior to the season starting in Danville he will visit the different Braves Minor League clubs to assist in development.

"With the staff we have coming to Danville next season, we look to continue the tradition of quality baseball and great community service," stated Danville general manager David Cross.

The 2014 season will be Ingle's fifth season managing in the Appalachian League as he managed the Pulaski Braves from 1990-92.

Joining Ingle as the pitching coach will be a face that long time Danville fans will recognize. Dan Meyer, who will be in his first season as a professional coach, played in Danville on the 2002 squad that also featured former D-Braves skipper Jonathan Schuerholz. The former first round draft pick pitched in 103 games for the Braves, A's and Marlins over five Major League seasons.

Carlos Mendez, who coached in Danville from 2008-10, will return as the hitting coach after serving in the same capacity for two seasons with the Rome Braves and last year in the Gulf Coast League. Mendez played for 16 years in the Minor Leagues and made his Major League debut with the Baltimore Orioles in May 2003.

Rounding out the staff is second year athletic trainer Joe Luat.

The 2014 Danville Braves will begin their home season June 25 versus the Greeneville Astros. For further information on the schedule, season tickets, promotional nights and/or partnership opportunities please contact the Danville Braves office at (434) 797-3792, email at, or log on to
