Everett, WA - The Everett AquaSox (15-16) lost to the Eugene Emeralds (15-16) 3-2, in the first game of the five-game series on Saturday, August 26, 2017 at Everett Memorial Stadium.

Clay Chandler started tonight's game by striking out Zach Davis. Chandler walked Jhonny Bethencourt to give Eugene their first base runner. Greifer Andrade prevented the Emeralds from scoring by fielding Austin Filiere double to left field and throwing to Chris Torres who threw Bethencourt out at home.
David Banuelos walked and later scored on a Manny Pazos sacrifice fly to right field in the second inning, giving the Frogs a 1-0 lead.
Eugene Helder and Andrade both reached first base on errors in the third inning. Onil Pena hit a groundout to first baseman Gustavo Polanco and collected an RBI to extend the Sox lead, 2-0.
Chandler allowed three base hits which tied the game in the fourth inning, 2-2. Both teams went down in order through the fifth inning.
Adonis De La Cruz relieved Chandler in the sixth inning with a runner on second base and one out. Polanco singled on a ball to Grebeck, scoring Rafael Narea and giving Eugene the lead, 3-2.
The Sox and Emeralds were unable to get the bats going in seventh and eighth innings. Emeralds relief pitcher Enrique De Los Rios kept the Sox hitless as De la Cruz threw for five strikeouts in the two innings, 3-2.
Frogs reliever Scott Kuzminsky replaced De la Cruz on the mound in the ninth inning and struck out two of the three batters he faced. The Frogs were set aside by Emeralds reliever Jake Steffens and the Everett AquaSox lost to the Eugene Emeralds in front of 4,007.
The Sox will return to Everett Memorial Stadium tomorrow, Sunday, August 26, 2017 at 4:05 PM to battle the Eugene Emeralds on Seattle Children's Family Festival. Group tickets, family outings and ticket packages are available for Sunday game! For tickets visit AquaSox.com.
