Springfield, MO-The Arkansas Travelers staved off a sweep and defeated the Springfield Cardinals, 7-1, on Sunday. Logan Gilbert dealt five shutout innings with eight strikeouts while allowing only two hits and three walks on his way to win number four with Arkansas. Kyle Lewis, Cal Raleigh and Logan Taylor all homered for the Travs as they snapped a season-worst four game losing streak.
Moments That Mattered
* Lewis got the Travs started with a three-run homer in the third inning. A towering blast to left-center, it came with two out and followed a walk to Evan White.
* The Cardinals mounted a big threat in the bottom of the third, loading the bases with two out but Yariel Gonzalez's drive to the warning track in right field was run down by Luis Liberato to end the threat.

After a day off Monday, the Travs return home on Tuesday to start the final homestand of the regular season with the first of three against the Corpus Christi Hooks. Left-hander Ricardo Sánchez (8-9, 3.72) gets the start against righty Brett Conine (0-0, 4.50). It is a Zoosday Tuesday with free train rides and baseball bingo. First pitch is set for 7:10.
