Travs Go Into Break With a Win

Springfield, MO-A six-run second inning stood tall for the Arkansas Travelers as they won the final game before the Texas League All-Star Break, 6-5 over the Springfield Cardinals. The second inning saw 11 hitters come to the plate and included five hits, three walks (two with the bases loaded) and a sacrifice fly. Arkansas would not get a hit over the final seven innings of the game with their last hit being Beau Amaral's single that tied the score in the second. Meanwhile, Springfield managed just one hit over the final seven innings. The bullpen trio of Stephen Perakslis, Daniel Schlereth and Matt Walker was particularly effective for the Travs as they gave up just two walks over five total innings with both runners erased in double plays.
