ASHEVILLE- A pair of throwing errors proved to be too much to overcome for the Asheville Tourists on Wednesday night. The Hickory Crawdads scored four of their six runs due to overthrows and snapped the Tourists five-game win streak in the process. The final score was 6-3.
The Tourists jumped out to a fantastic start. Asheville scored two runs in the bottom of the first inning and had a chance to plate more. Unfortunately, Todd Czinege hit a missal line drive right at the Crawdads' second baseman and a flyout later in the inning ended the threat.

Hickory then used back to back singles in the top of the third to set the table. A bunt was put down and Erick Julio attempted to throw out the runner at third base. Julio's throw sailed wide and two runs came in to score. Hickory added an RBI triple and an RBI groundout to take a 4-2 lead.
Austin Bernard brought the Tourists within a run by hitting a leadoff Home Run in the bottom of the fifth. The game remained 4-3 until the top of the ninth inning. With two runners on and two outs, the Tourists tried a trick pick-off play at first base. Another errant throw occurred and the Crawdads added two more runs.
Tyler Bugner 's seventh inning single was Asheville's only hit over the game's final four innings. Bugner stole second to reach scoring position; however, an excellent defensive play ended the inning. Matt Hearn extended his hitting streak to 13 games with a fifth inning single.
The Tourists will look to jump back into the win column as both teams are back in action on Thursday night. The first pitch is scheduled for 7:05pm.
