GREENSBORO- The Asheville Tourists won their third straight contest over the Greensboro Grasshoppers in blowout fashion on Monday night. Asheville plated 12 runs on 16 hits, smacked five more Home Runs, and defeated Greensboro 12-1.
Frederis Parra pitched a masterpiece for the Tourists. Parra tossed eight shutout innings and earned his first win in an Asheville uniform. Parra is only the second pitcher for the Tourists this season to chew up eight innings in a start.

Offensively the Tourists used the Home Run ball to their advantage once again. Ramon Marcelino hit a solo shot in the top of the second to begin the madness. Bret Boswell followed with a three-run Home Run in the third. Later in the third, Sean Bouchard plated a pair of runs with a two-out single into left to cap a five-run frame.
Casey Golden blasted off in the sixth. Literally. Golden hit a 465-foot three run Home Run clear out of the stadium to give Asheville a 9-0 lead. Todd Czinege added a two-run shot in the ninth and Marcelino hit his second of the game in part of a back-to-back effort with Czinege. Greensboro's lone run came in the bottom of the ninth.
Asheville has hit 14 Home Runs over their last three games, all wins in Greensboro. The Tourists also made noise on the base paths with four stolen bases. Eight of the nine players in Asheville's lineup recorded at least one hit and Ryan Vilade extended his hitting streak to seven games with a 2-for-4 performance.
The Tourists and the Grasshoppers wrap up their series on Tuesday afternoon. The first pitch is scheduled for 12:00pm. Asheville is in search of their third series sweep of the season.
