North Augusta, SC: The Augusta GreenJackets, South Atlantic League affiliate of the San Francisco Giants, won 8-3 against the Columbia Fireflies on Saturday night.
Garrett Cave came ready to pitch in his last start of the season. Cave went five innings for the GreenJackets, only surrendering two hits to the Fireflies. With eight strikeouts, Cave went on to earn his sixth win of the season.
On the offensive side, the GreenJackets struck early. In the first inning, four consecutive hits led to two runs in the inning. The score would stay 2-0 until the sixth inning, when Heliot Ramos sent out a two-run home run to left field. His 11th home run of the season capped off his 2-3 night at the plate.
The GreenJackets would go on to score four more runs after the home run from Ramos. This would put the GreenJackets in control as they cruised to a 8-3 victory.
Augusta will be back in action tomorrow, with first pitch set for 6:35 pm at SRP Park.
