GAME #58: Pelicans Score Seven Runs Late, Win 10-3

North Augusta, SC - Flemin Bautista pinch-hit in the eighth inning, and his three-run home run was the difference. Myrtle Beach took a 6-3 lead and hung on for the Saturday night win at SRP Park.

The GreenJackets will look to return on Sunday and earn the series win over the Pelicans.

The GreenJackets took an early lead thanks to a solo home run from Cade Bunnell. Bunnell leads the Jackets with eight home runs, and stayed hot after his four hit game yesterday. He went 3-for-5.Bunnell is now 7-for-10 in his last two games at the plate.

With the Jackets leading 1-0, Jordan Nwogu hit a two-run shot to give Myrtle Beach the lead. The 2-1 advantage was stretched to 3-1 in the third inning. Kevin Made scored on a Matt Mervis single.

The Augusta offense struck in the home-half of the inning. Bryson Horne tied the score with a single to score two runs. We were tied at three. But then it was Bautista's three run home run to make it 6-3.

Didier Vargas finished his night after seven innings on the mound for Myrtle Beach. He allowed just three runs. Danis Correa earned the win.

In the ninth inning, Myrtle Beach scored four times and put the game out of reach at 10-3.

NOTES:

• Ben Dum pitched a season-high 3.1 innings. He did not allow a run.
• Braulio Vasquez has a six game hitting streak.
• Victor De Hoyos grabbed his seventh multi-hit game of the season.
