GreenJackets Stump Braves 8-3

Augusta, GA - The Augusta GreenJackets (40-28, 76-62) and Rome Braves (43-26, 69-69) played out the third game of their 4-game home stand Sunday afternoon from Lake Olmstead Stadium.

Just a day after being officially eliminated from playoff contention, it was the GreenJackets who ruled on this day.

Starter Domenic Mazza threw six strong innings, allowing three runs and striking out four. The offense broke out with three in the 6th and four in the 7th. Junior Arias led the team with three hits, and also doubled. Kelvin Beltre also tripled.

The bullpen was also strong in shutting down Rome. Sandro Cabrera struck out three and Ryan Halstead and Cesar Yanez completed the game.

The Augusta GreenJackets will conclude their 2016 season at home versus the Rome Braves Monday at 7:05pm. Gates open at 5:30pm. It will also be our Labor Day Fireworks Celebration. It's also fan appreciation weekend with prize giveaways & Hive Pro Shop specials all game long including Kids run the bases.

Brent Lundy will be performing a pre-game concert from 5:30-7:00pm with happy hour specials during this time.
