NORTH AUGUSTA, SOUTH CAROLINA: The Augusta GreenJackets (50-45, 14-13) defeated the Charleston RiverDogs (48-49, 11-16) in the series finale on Wednesday night. The Jackets win the series over Charleston and will stay one-game behind the Rome Braves for 1st place in the 2nd half standings.

Frankie Tostado got the offense rolling in the 2nd inning. After Luis Medina struck-out the side in the 1st inning, Tostado banged a triple off the wall in the 2nd to start the frame. He came around to score later in the inning on a passed ball.
Logan Webb, making a rehab assignment with the GreenJackets, had Charleston guessing all night long. He'd finish after five innings and he did not allow a run while ending his outing with four strikeouts. Webb also allowed only two hits on the night.
The Augusta offense gave Webb some run support in the 4th inning. Four straight singles to start the frame scored three runs, and the Jackets lead grew to 4-0. Tostado's 57th RBI of the year gave the Jackets a 2-0 lead, a passed ball scored another run to make it 3-0, then it was Jose Layer with a single to extend the Augusta lead to 4-0.
Charleston made things interesting in the 8th inning when they scored two runs, the first on a walk with the bases-loaded for Canaan Smith. The 2nd run they scored came home on a throwing error to make it 4-2. Charleston could not score a run-off Sandro Cabrera in the 9th inning and he collected his 2nd save of 2019.
Player of the Game: Frankie Tostado, 2-3, 2 R, RBI
Tostado slammed a triple off the wall in the 2nd inning and eventually scored to get the GreenJackets on the board Wednesday night. The multi-hit game for Tostado was his 21st of the year as he paced the Augusta offense.
Tomorrow's Game: 7:05 PM vs Charleston RiverDogs (New York Yankees), SRP Park, North Augusta, South Carolina
