Ben Grubbs charity softball game May 21st

Saints players will participate in home run derby and softball game
February 24, 2014

All-Pro offensive lineman Ben Grubbs and his New Orleans Saints teammates will once again trade their helmets and pads for bats and gloves when the Ben Grubbs Foundation Charity Softball Game returns to Zephyr Field on Wednesday, May 21

Tickets are on sale at Zephyr Field and all Ticketmaster locations, or online at Ticketmaster.com. Tickets are $15 for VIP seating, and $12 for standard admission.

The home run derby will begin at 6 p.m., followed by the Saints offense playing the Saints defense in a softball game. The defense trounced the offense 10-2 in last year's contest, so Grubbs and his offensive teammates are already plotting ways to get even.

"The players had a great time last year, but the offense wasn't happy with the final score," said Grubbs, who joined the Saints as a free agent prior to the 2012 season. "We raised a lot of money to help the Boys and Girls Clubs in the New Orleans area, and this year we want to continue with that success. It's family-friendly for the fans and I appreciate everyone who comes out and supports us."

Proceeds from the event will benefit the non-profit Ben Grubbs #66 Foundation, which supports local Boys and Girls Clubs. For more information, visit www.bengrubbs66.com.
