Catholic League football will return to the Shrine on Airline in 2017 for eight games starting on Friday, September 15 when Jesuit hosts Central.
The ballpark, which celebrated its 20th anniversary in April, hosted football for the first time last fall and attracted 62,750 fans across eight regular season Catholic League contests and three postseason games. The opener between Brother Martin and John Curtis was televised to a national audience on ESPNU.
"Last year was a tremendous success, and there was no question we wanted to bring football back to the Shrine," said New Orleans Baby Cakes general manager Cookie Rojas. "We are proud to offer the community a place to gather on Friday nights to watch high school football in a fun and safe environment."
The 2017 schedule features seven Friday games and one on Saturday:
