BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Birmingham Barons are set to welcome the newly coined Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp to Regions Field this weekend for the second homestand of the season. The 2017 Saturday Entertainer Series presented by Red Diamond and CBS 42 gets underway on Saturday evening as the Human Cannonball Show makes its first appearance at Regions Field. The homestand extends through Wednesday, April 26 and is jam packed with fun promotions, activities and school days
Saturday, April 22, 6:30 p.m. - The first game of the series is highlighted by the Human Cannonball Show, which makes its inaugural appearance at Regions Field. The Barons also are set to host Hockey Night in Birmingham as former Birmingham Bulls instigator Jerome Bechard along with Tyler Johnston and Ian Hebert will be in town to sign autographs and Bechard will throw out the first pitch. The VIP entrance will open at 5 p.m. and all gates will be open at 5:30.
Sunday, April 23, 3:00 p.m. - Our second Salute to Armed Forces Sunday presented by NAPA and Marion Military Institute will highlight the second game of the series along with Autism Friendly Day. Autism Friendly Day focuses on making Regions Field a venue that adheres to individuals and families affected by Autism. The Barons will also host a Youth Baseball Clinic from 1-2 p.m. at Regions Field.
Monday, April 24 and Wednesday, April 26, 11:30 a.m. - Two School Days are scheduled during this homestand where fans of all ages have the opportunity to come out and enjoy some matinee baseball.
Tuesday, April 25, 7:05 p.m. - Barons pitcher Michael Kopech is scheduled to be on the mound on the first T-Shirt Tuesday of 2017. The first 1,000 adults will receive a t-shirt presented by Paycor. In addition, Tuesday night will be 50-cent Hot Dog Night presented by Kayem, Flowers Baking Co., MINI of Birmingham, Birmingham Zoo, CBS 42 and O'Charley's. The VIP entrance will open at 5:30 p.m. and all gates will be open at 6:00.
