Barons To Host National Anthem Auditions

Barons in Search of Talented Vocalists to Perform Anthem at Regions Field in 2017

BIRMINGHAM, AL. - The Birmingham Barons, Double-A affiliate of the Chicago White Sox, will be hosting National Anthem tryouts at Regions Field Wednesday, March 1st, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Performers are asked to enter through the executive entrance on 1st Ave. South. All interested performers are invited to give their best anthem rendition for the opportunity to sing prior to a Barons home game this season.

"We are a community-driven franchise and there's no better way for us to express that than to give Barons fans a chance to participate in our gameday operations," Barons General Manager Jonathan Nelson said. "Singing the National Anthem at a Barons baseball game can certainly be a memorable experience for people of all ages."

The opportunity is at no cost, but candidates will need to fill out a registration form before auditioning. Please do not call or email the front office to set up an audition time. Candidates will have the opportunity to perform on a first-come, first-serve basis with registration being capped at 100 participants. Performers should arrive no later than 6:45 p.m.

Limited spots remain available for the 2017 season. If selected, National Anthem singers will receive two complimentary box seats to their selected game.

Birmingham opens the 2017 season on Thursday, April 6th on the road against the Jackson Generals, Double-A affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks.
