BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Birmingham Barons are excited to announce parking accommodations near Regions Field for the upcoming 2017 season. Partnering with the Jefferson County Department of Health, the primary parking lot at Regions Field will now be on the corner of 14th Street South and 6th Avenue South, just blocks from Regions Field.

"Coordinating an effective parking plan is always important to our season preparations," Barons General Manager Jonathan Nelson said. "This year Regions Field visitors will once again have a variety of game day parking and public transportation options regardless of what part of town you're coming from."

Roughly 3,000 individual parking spaces remain available within a five minute walk of Regions Field. Lot B, located off 17th Street between 3rd and 4th Avenue will return for season ticket holders with numerous public parking areas available near the ballpark. Fans also have access to the "Barber" parking lot on the corner of 14th Street and 1st Avenue North, as well as the parking lots at Ted's Cafeteria on 12th Street and HESCO Auto Service on 2nd Avenue South. Street parking spaces and other public parking locations will be accessible within two blocks of the ballpark.

Intelligent Parking Systems also returns with 15 six-passenger carts running on a continuous loop between lots and Regions Field during all home games, providing fans with efficient transportation before and after each game.

The Barons will also continue their partnership with BJCTA as the MAX Dart trolley is set to run again for Barons home games in 2017. The classic, wood-panel trolleys run all day on Barons game days until 11 p.m. weeknights and until midnight on weekends. Pick-up is scheduled for every 45 minutes, and there is no operation on Sundays.

Fans may also monitor the Barons Facebook and Twitter pages for daily parking updates throughout the season. Both feeds will be updated frequently to inform fans of open parking spaces.

The Barons open the home portion of their 2017 season at Regions Field on Wednesday, April 12th  against the Montgomery Biscuits, Double-A affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays, with first pitch set for 7:05 p.m. For ticket information, game schedule, promotions calendar or for additional information about Regions Field, call (205) 988-3200 or visit www.barons.com, www.facebook.com/birminghambarons or on Twitter: @bhambarons.
