CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - Lookouts shortstop Nick Gordon continued to be a thorn in the Barons' side, going 2-for-4 with a home run, triple and two RBIs in Chattanooga's 4-1 win over Birmingham on Tuesday night.

Gordon led off the bottom of the first with a triple for the second consecutive game and was knocked in by an Edgar Corcino double, marking his fifth hit and seventh RBI of the series. Before Birmingham starter Spencer Adams could get out of the first, Chattanooga would push another run across, on a throwing error by Cleuluis Rondon.

Staked to a 2-0 lead after one, lefty Nik Turley weaved through the Barons' lineup in his first start back in Chattanooga, as he arrived back with the team from extended spring training earlier in the day. Turley gave up only one hit, a second inning Hunter Jones double and struck out nine over four scoreless innings. The lefty lowered his ERA in Chattanooga during the 2017 season to 0.37.

The score would remain 2-0 until the fourth inning when Gordon struck again, taking Adams deep to right field for a two-run home run, his third of the season, which provided the Lookouts all the runs they would need.

Mason Robbins got the Barons on the board in the sixth with an RBI single to cut the lead to 4-1, but that would be as close as Birmingham would get.

Matt Tracy pitched four innings of one run ball out of Chattanooga's bullpen to secure the win and move to 3-3 on the season, while Nick Burdi pitched a clean ninth to record his first save of 2017.

Adams would go 5.2 innings, giving up all four runs and dropping to 1-6 in the process and Connor Walsh threw 2.1 shutout innings in relief.

The Barons will wrap up the series against the Chattanooga Lookouts tomorrow morning at 10:15 a.m. CT. Right hander Thaddius Lowry (2-2, 4.10) will be on the mound for Birmingham, while fellow righty Felix Jorge (3-1, 3.45) will take the ball for Chattanooga. Curt Bloom will bring you all the action, starting with the Coca-Cola pregame show at 10:05 a.m. CT. The game can be heard on the iHeart Radio app.
