Anderson, BayBears Baked the Biscuits 6-0

MOBILE, AL -- The Mobile BayBears improved 4-2, winning their home opener 6-0 over the Montgomery Biscuits, Wednesday night at Hank Aaron Stadium. RHP Chase Anderson (2-0) pitched six scoreless innings for the second straight appearance. The shutout out was the first for the BayBears in 2014 and the first shutout defeat for the Biscuits.

Jon Griffin put the BayBears on the bored in the second inning with a RBI single that plated Jordan Parraz who reached base after being hit by a pitch from Biscuits RHP Victor Mateo (0-2). After a Garrett Weber single, Lars Davis RBI ground out plated David Peralta, giving Mobile a 2-0 lead. The second inning scoring continued with an RBI single from Sean Jamieson, extending the Mobile lead to three.

Anderson shut down the Biscuits' bats, limiting Montgomery to just four hits, walking two batters and striking out six. Mateo exited the game for Montgomery after surrendering four runs on seven hits in 5.1 innings. The BayBears tacked on another run in the sixth inning and two more in the seventh to win the first game of the five game series.
