Three of the five home runs came in the first inning with a leadoff solo shot from Cedric Mullins , a two-run shot off the bat of Anthony Santander and DJ Stewart followed Santander with a solo blast of his own to give Bowie a 4-0 lead. The home runs were Mullins' 11th and Stewart's 16th of the season.
The five home runs is a season-high and is the most hit in a game by the Baysox since hitting five on August 29, 2013 vs. Binghamton.
Santander and Stewart became the second set of Baysox teammates to hit back-to-back home runs this season after Stewart and Garabez Rosa accomplished the feat in a 13-7 win on Opening Night at Akron.
Harrisburg got a pair back in the second to cut the lead to 4-2 via solo shots from Raudy Read and Drew Ward .
Hess (9-8) surrendered two runs on two hits to go along with a walk and a career-high tying eight strikeouts in six innings of work. The right-hander had previously fanned eight on May 1 vs. Erie and the win for Hess was his first since July 2 at Akron.
In the home half of the second, Austin Wynns drew a leadoff walk, took second on a wild pitch and scored on Erick Salcedo's RBI single to extend the Baysox lead to 5-2.
Bowie tacked on another pair of runs in the fifth to make it a 7-2 game. Ryan Flaherty drew a one-out walk in the frame and scored on Austin Hays' RBI triple and Hays came home later in the inning when Santander reached with an RBI fielder's choice.
Senators starter Taylor Hill (4-4) gave up the seven runs on eight hits while walking three and fanning one in 4.1 IP.
Hays delivered a grand slam as part of a five-run sixth to stretch the Baysox lead to 12-2. The home run was Hays' 11th of the season and his second grand slam.
All five runs were charged to Harrisburg RHP Kyle Schepel (1.1 IP, 3 H, 5 R, 5 ER, 2 BB, K).
In the seventh, Ryan Mountcastle led off with a double, went to third on a groundout and scored on Salcedo's RBI single to give the hosts a 13-2 advantage.
