OF DJ Stewart Named Orioles' Organizational Player of the Month

BOWIE, Md.- Bowie Baysox OF DJ Stewart was named the Baltimore Orioles Organizational Player of the Month for August, as announced by the club's Player Development Department on Monday morning. Aberdeen RHP Michael Baumann was named the Organizational Pitcher of the Month.


Stewart hit .340 with six home runs and 20 RBI over 27 games in the month and notched nine doubles to go along with 17 runs scored.

The Florida State product recorded the first multi-home run game of his professional career on August 22 vs. Reading. Earlier in the month, Stewart set a career-high with six RBI in a 13-7 win over Portland on August 5.

Stewart was originally selected by the Orioles in the first round (#25 overall) of the 2015 draft.

He is the fourth Baysox player to receive an Orioles monthly award this season after LHP John Means and LHP Tanner Scott were named the Organizational Pitcher of the Month in April and May, while OF Austin Hays received the Player of the Month honor in June.
